Why We Do Small Group Personal Training Instead of Traditional 1-to-1

Why does ATS use small group personal training instead of traditional 1-to-1 sessions?

Because we think you can have the best bits of both.

You get the individual attention and adaptable training you'd expect from personal training, combined with the environment and community you'd get from training as part of a team.

You still get coached as an individual

"Small group" to us doesn't mean everyone walks in and does the same workout.

Your training still needs to make sense for you.

Your goals. Your experience. Your sport. How you're moving. How you're feeling that day.

That's why we keep our small group personal training sessions at a maximum 4:1 client-to-coach ratio.

You will have a fully personalised training plan, made just for you, and each session the coach on the day will watch how you're moving and adapt things when needed.

You don't lose the personal part of personal training just because someone else is training alongside you. Instead, you gain an encouraging team environment as you all push each other.

But you gain the environment of team training

This is where we think small group training really comes into its own.

Training completely on your own isn't usually much fun, and most of us struggle to motivate ourselves to go by ourselves.

When you train alongside other people, there's an energy to the session that's difficult to recreate in a 1-to-1 environment.

You can work towards completely different goals while still encouraging each other, having a laugh and celebrating when someone has a great session.

Think team strength & conditioning, but with your own training and coaching.

Community without sacrificing coaching

We don't want you disappearing into a busy gym with your headphones on, following a generic programme and hoping you're doing everything correctly.

But we don't think you need a coach standing six inches away from you for an entire hour either.

Small group personal training sits nicely between the two.

You get coached as an individual. You train as part of a community.

For us, that's the sweet spot.

Small group personal training in Edinburgh

At ATS Personal Training in Edinburgh, we use small group personal training because it gives you the structure and individual coaching you need while creating an environment you actually look forward to training in.

No egos. No getting lost in a packed gym and waiting for equiment for hours.

Just good coaching, your own plan and other good people getting after their goals alongside you.

If that sounds like your kind of training, give ATS a shout.
